Hurricane Debby
Hurricane Debby made landfall on Florida's Gulf Coast early Monday morning and is tracking northwestward through Georgia. The storm is expected to bring heavy rain and wind to the South Carolina coast on Tuesday, with lingering effects off the coast for up to two days. Lexington County anticipates 5 to 7 inches of rainfall, but higher amounts are possible in other areas.
If you encounter flooded streets, you should avoid driving through them and instead take an alternate route. Flood waters can hide dips and wash away road surfaces, and even a few inches of water can be dangerous for vehicles. Driving through flood waters can stall your engine, damage your car, and even float a 1,500-pound vehicle. Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
